Dedicated to improving the biodiversity of Woodlake Drive Reserve in Craigburn Farm in conjunction with Mitcham Council

What is WRAG?

WRAG was formed in early 2023 and comprised a few interested residents of Craigburn Farm concerned about the deteriorating condition of Woodlake Drive Reserve and keen to drive action for its improvement. In April 2023, WRAG invited residents to an Autumn BBQ to enjoy each other’s company and to share ideas about the future of the reserve. Over 50 residents attended including the Member for Waite, the City of Mitcham Mayor, 3 Councillors and a representative of Green Adelaide. In October 2023, 12 local residents were formally inducted as Volunteers by the City of Mitcham. Early in 2024 WRAG was formally incorporated, and Angela Hills confirmed as Chairperson. A Management Plan – including a Strategic Plan, Action Plan and Priorities – has been prepared to focus and guide our work. The City of Mitcham has now endorsed the Strategic Plan and is supporting WRAG’s priorities. What does WRAG do? As in incorporated body WRAG’s Rules of Association specify the following purpose and objects: to work collaboratively with the City of Mitcham and the residents of Craigburn Farm to promote and nurture the ongoing improvement, enhancement and maintenance of Woodlake Drive Reserve as the park at the heart of Craigburn Farm and a place for residents to enjoy,to promote and nurture the adjacent public open spaces and reservesto support the restoration and maintenance of biodiversity of Woodlake Drive Reserve and adjacent reserves, to work with and encourage the City of Mitcham in its ongoing maintenance and improvement of the reserves of Craigburn Farm, to build a sense of community in Craigburn Farm.
